Welcome home

20120328-125605.jpg

This blog is an attempt to catalogue our adventures making our new house home, while at the same time keeping a chronicle of our participation in two CSA programs. We started to keep track of house stuff over at our first home-centric blog, but things got busy, projects got cooking, and frankly I (Kelly) got lazy.

Our ambitions are lower this time. Post once a week about our CSA haul and how we use it, and sporadically share our house projects. More pictures, fewer words, easier to manage (fingers crossed).

Short version of events to get yo’self up to speed: we are Kelly and Steve, we’re married, we’re gainfully employed, we just bought a 50+ year old house, we have a pup named Agnes, we like to eat, and when we can, we like to keep things local. We are members of a vegetable CSA–run by Casey Farm in Saunderstown RI–and it’s our second year there, and this year, we’ve joined a meat CSA run by Pat’s Pastured in East Greenwich RI. And we have a milk man who brings us local milk, eggs, and cheese (among other locally produced goodies).

We’re looking forward to sharing our home with you: food and projects. It’s those things (along with each other, Agnes, and our friends and families–our village!) that make our house a home.
